LIZZIE BOECK

"When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me.'"
~Erma Bombeck
ABOUT
Lizzie Boeck (“Beck”, the o is silent. It’s German.) is a former coach and Division I basketball player turned screenwriter and comedian. A pastor’s kid from the Midwest, and the 6th of 7 children, Lizzie naturally turned to humor to make sense of life’s chaos. Her clean comedy blends self-deprecation and observation as she shares stories of growing up poor in a big, loud, Lutheran family, remaining a Christian in a messy world, and the struggles of dating (and life) as a tall woman. To answer your question, she’s 6’2”. Yes, she loves being tall, but please stop asking her for help, her arms are tired. Lizzie may look like the sassy Midwest girl next door who will rough you up if you approach her, and that’s exactly right. Just kidding, she’s harmless. Lizzie loves writing in the third person and is so thankful you’ve taken time to read her bio that she wrote.
Lizzie got her start in comedy studying improv at Second City Hollywood and The Groundlings and later took to the stage as a standup. She's charmed audiences at some of LA’s top venues, including The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv, Laugh Factory and Westside Comedy Theater. She’s performed on Don’t Tell Comedy shows in various cities, and is proud to say she successfully entertained a room of 300 Midwest Lutherans for 30 minutes. It’s all downhill from here.
